Program Overview
The Lifelong Learning Grant is a charitable financial assistance program established by the Opportunity & Equity Foundation to support individuals with disabilities as they transition into adulthood and greater independence. The Foundation created the Lifelong Learning Grant to put opportunity and equity into action by helping remove financial barriers that may prevent individuals with disabilities from achieving their personal goals. The Foundation recognizes that every individual's journey is unique and believes there is no single path to independence. Whether a recipient chooses to pursue higher education, workforce training, employment, trade school, entrepreneurship, or independent living, the grant is designed to provide meaningful financial assistance that supports their next step toward greater self-sufficiency.
Goals
To remove financial barriers for individuals with disabilities transitioning into adulthood, supporting each recipient's unique path toward greater independence through lifelong learning, education, employment, vocational training, entrepreneurship, or independent living.
Eligibility
Individuals with disabilities pursuing higher education, vocational training, employment, trade school, entrepreneurship, or independent living. Applicants must complete a scholarship application describing their goals and intended use of funds. Selection is made by a committee appointed by the Board of Directors.
Who This Serves
Individuals with disabilities whose goals align with improving their quality of life, increasing independence, expanding educational or employment opportunities, or removing financial barriers that may otherwise limit their success.
Benefits
Beginning at $500 per recipient during initial years, with amounts expected to increase as funding grows. Scholarships are awarded to further the Foundation's charitable mission and are not intended for private benefit.
Services Provided
Scholarship funds may be used for: college or university tuition, trade school or vocational training, workforce certification programs, books and educational supplies, employment-related tools or equipment, housing expenses, food and basic living necessities, transportation expenses, assistive technology or adaptive equipment, and entrepreneurship or small business startup expenses.
Schedule
Scholarships are anticipated to be awarded annually, with timing aligned to The Bridge Conference where possible.

Statewide — Arkansas residents with disabilities.
Cost
Free — scholarship recipients receive financial assistance at no cost.
